Site Information
After slowly growing dissatisfied with Parade Hosting, I began looking into new hosting options. I had hoped to find a good, reliable host that would offer me the space I needed as well as a free domain with annual payment. However, I was unable to after two months and decided that perhaps I should return to my subdomain roots for a while. After looking at severals hosts, I went with Georgina's recommendation and applied for hosting with Kya.The site name, Skipfire, was chosen after I used a random site name generator to come up with a list of names. It was chosen because I feel that it describes me; "skip" refers to my craziness and "fire" refers to my astrological sign, Leo, and the fiery personality that comes with it.
Site History
2005- started out as Dark Glamour on Geocities
- discovered name was taken; subsequently renamed Kage no Kokoro (Japanese: shadow's heart)
- Kage no Kokoro officially opened December 2005
- moved to Kylosa
- applied for hosting with Shimobashira in March and was accepted
- Shimobashira and site vanished
- applied for hosting with Kara in January and was accepted
- decided to move to Pandela in September but ended up closing my site instead
- applied for hosting with Liza in October
- renamed to Artificial Night
- changed subdomains but was still hosted by Liza
- found Parade Hosting in early February and bought a reseller account on a whim a few days later
- GEKKOSTATE.org was born February 14th, 2009
- After months of databases randomly disappearing, servers going down, etc., I decided to move and settled on a subdomain with Kya
Current Layout
Version: One Features: Taylor Swift
Why: I'd been working on another layout when I first heard "You Belong With Me" and fell in love with the song! It inspired me to create a layout, found the awesome image and brushes, and voila! I love this layout, there's pink and yellow in it, two colors I never thought I'd use!
